Jammie Williams 1004 Fernie Story Rd Ashland City Tn 37015 615-952-4917 Biography Jammie Williams is a professionally trained oil painter and sculptor who lives and works in Nashville TN. He attended both Watkins College of Art and Design as well as Tennessee State University as a painting major. He also learned traditional sculpting techniques while serving for over eight years as chief assistant to nationally known sculptor Alan LeQuire. He is also a member of the National Sculpture Society and the Portrait Society of America. “My work is based on the human figure. The human form has the capacity to communicate on a very intuitive and direct level. I draw inspiration from the long history of the figurative tradition, but most importantly, I am inspired by the myriad attitudes and gestures of the living human form. It’s this most basic, honest form of expression with its subtle language of movement and gesture, that I feel has the capacity to most sincerely and directly connect with the viewer.” Education July 2012 Assistant to Juliette Aristides 2003-2013.
