Joe Nolan

Singer/songwriter Joe Nolan is an East Nashville music pioneer who recorded the first of four CD’s on the “right side of the Cumberland River” 13 years before Rolling Stone named Nashville the “Best Music Scene” in the country. Born in Detroit, Nolan moved to Nashville in 1992 and signed his first publishing contract with Black and White Music (BMI) less than a year later, and distinguished himself as one of the most prolific young songwriters in Music City. He began performing and recording with Pat Flynn (New Grass Revival) who co-produced Nolan’s critically-acclaimed debut CD, Plain Jane. Joe’s music has been spotlighted by international radio programs like Acoustic Cafe and publications like Vintage Guitar magazine, Los Angeles Daily News and Performing Songwriter. In 2014, No Depression critic Joe Wolf-Mazares took to his Ear 2 the Ground music blog commenting on Joe’s songs: “Great music is timeless. This is timeless music.” Joe’s gigged all over the U.S. and in Europe. His song “Rocking Mockingbird” was recently awarded a 1K grant from the Bonnaroo Works Fund by the Metro Nashville Arts Commission. In 2015, Joe signed his latest publishing agreement with USA Media Rights. He’s currently recording his fourth LP release in East Nashville.
