Melody Ryan

Melody is a biologist and wildlife rehabilitator who draws much of her artistic inspiration from animals and the beautiful oddities of science and the natural world. She received a Minor in Art at Middle Tennessee State University along with a B.S. degree in Animal Biology and a second Minor in Music/Flute Performance.

Drawing and painting had always been Melody’s main artistic outlets until she began her photography career in 2010 working as a music journalist and photographer for Skullbanger Media Metalzine. She has been a photographer for Warped Tour and Chicago Open Air Festival and has shot prominent metal bands such as Slayer, Meshuggah, Between the Buried and Me, GWAR, Dillinger Escape Plan, and Opeth. On the other end of the spectrum, Melody focuses her lens on the serene, capturing mystical scenes of nature and sinister shots of abandoned sites around the United States.

Aside from creating visual art, Melody also enjoys crafting jewelry, crochets, embroideries, and macramés.
