Shelley McCoy

A lifelong Tennessean, Shelley McCoy is a Franklin-based artist whose expressionistic style uses heavy impasto. Through exploring and mixing various mediums she enhances her work with texture, form, and color. Her rich use of texture creates a sculpted look and sets the color off on the canvas. As a teenager growing up in Paris, she found a natural pull toward creativity. She was drawn to interior design and the visual arts. Moving to the Franklin area years later, a "fixer-upper" renewed and challenged her design instincts. Having trouble finding artwork in her budget led her to begin experimenting artistically. Her original artwork became the finishing touch to their new home.
