Sheron Garrett-Dickerson

Sheron Garrett-Dickerson

Sheron is a Nashville area native. She received her formal art education at the renowned Harris School of Art in Franklin, TN. After completing her degree she worked in the commercial art field of layout design, mechanical art, and illustration. Sheron spent 20 plus years illustrating magazines, books, and commissions for portraits and wall murals. Deciding to paint portraits exclusively was a natural transition. She has been influenced by the works of many artists. The mood that is created by light and color is what she admires in the work of others and what she creates when she applies paint to canvas.

Sheron is not a minimalist but likes the general idea and strives for simplicity in her work and life. She chooses to still create color using primarily red, yellow and blue. She surrounds herself with things of which all have a story and an emotional connection. That is her goal for her portraits, each should have an emotional connection for the viewer that will in turn allow the subject to tell their story and share their life with future generations. Sheron is available for commissioned pieces. You should contact her via e-mail for sitting appointments and pricing.
