Susan Prado

I am a native Nashvillian with a passion for creative expression as well as enriching the community with the arts. Along with my husband, Jairo Prado, I work collaboratively to produce large-scale commissioned works of public art in our local studio, as well as community-based art with youth and adults in the Nashville community. We often work with the immigrant and underserved population, encouraging self-expression, personal and community identity, as well as community engagement. My personal work is an expression of symbolic vocabulary interacting with the natural world and the human figure. A journey inward and upward has revealed secrets from the spiritual realm which I attempt to express in my most recent work. As I discover the voice of God and develop a personal relationship with Him, I understand that He is the Master Artist and the Creator of all things, and I discover who He has created me to be as an artist and a spiritual being. My aim is that I express who He is in me and what He wants to say through me as I create.
