Bonnaroo dropped their lineup this morning. And as a rock and pop music lover myself, I’m ecstatic! It’s not just chocked full of rock and pop music but has some EDM, Rap, Bluegrass and Country thrown in as well. I’ll admit, I kinda love all these genres of music and I love it even more that I can catch them in one place – The Farm at Bonnaroo. Some of the top names that you won’t want to miss at the 2020 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee include:
The Grand Ole Opry returns to Bonnaroo to headline and open on Thursday evening with special guests. Previous lineups have included Old Crow Medicine Show, Bobby Bare, Riders in the Sky and others. It brings a bit of Nashville-based country to Bonnaroo.
Other Thursday Shows to Add to Your List: 99 Neighbors, Devon Gilfillian, Larkin Poe, Liz Cooper and The Stampede, Taska Black, The Regrettes, Too Many Zooz.

LIZZO climbed the charts in 2019 with “Truth Hurts” hitting #1 and staying on the Hot 100 Billboard Charts for 35 weeks. “Good as Hell” spent 19 weeks on that same chart peaking at #3. Joining LIZZO as headliners for Saturday include FLUME, Oysterhead, Tenacious D, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, DaBaby, and Seven Lions.

WHAT’S NEW FOR BONNAROO 2020:
NEW GA+ TICKETS
I have to admit, I’m pretty excited myself about this option. You get all the perks of GA, along with access to a brand-new Centeroo lounge just for GA+. In this new year, ticket goers can enjoy AC bathrooms, exclusive bars and food vendors, and shaded seating. It’s a pretty sweet deal! Grab those GA+ Tickets now!
FASTER CAMPGROUND ENTRY
WOOO HOOO! Bonnaroo is adding tolls, security, and additional staff, as well as shifting some campground layouts to get you parked quicker! There will be less time in line, so you can get your ROO started earlier. They say on their website “if you arrive earlier, you will be camped closer to the venue.” YAY for no more guessing on your location!
WAYFINDING & MORE PEDICABS, OH MY!
Bonnaroo knows the small things matter, too, and they didn’t forget! In 2020, you will see better signage, have wayfinding help, more pedicabs, and information booths.
For 2020, there will be a new VIP campground layout, which will provide direct entry into the venue and the mound at the What Stage. In addition to all of the regular VIP Treatment, there will be expanded VIP viewing areas for the What & Which stages, air-conditioned VIP Centeroo Lounge with full-service bar, relaxed seating, WiFi, more shower and restroom facilities with attendants, and even more expanded offerings for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the VIP area. Learn more about VIP perks here.
GROOP PLAZA & CAMPING
Groop camping has continued to grow throughout the years. This year Bonnaroo is amping it up to its own plaza full of shade, games and more. If you are camping with a “GROOP” of friends like I have in the past, this camping will ensure that you stay together. You must have a minimum of 24 people and nominate a leader to do Groop Camping. Learn more about Groop Camping.
THE WHICH STAGE
According to Bonnaroo, The WHICH STAGE is glowing up! I absolutely LOVE that they used this phrase, and this stage needed it BAD. Bonnaroo’s second biggest stage is getting a new and improved production facelift in 2020. They say it will “up its WOW factor and generate a much higher rate of positivity radiation straight into your brain.” I’ll let you be the judge after the 2020 festival!
THE OTHER STAGE
The EDM stage at Bonnaroo is getting even better, with electronic music all night long until sunrise. They are even adding more production, fire, and lasers. Just when you think this stage couldn’t get better, Bonnaroo is upping the ante in EDM for 2020!
For 2020, plazas will be back and better than ever.
If you don’t know what a Plaza is, it’s where you will find a community of other ROO’ers, potentially a general store, medical, showers, food, games, shade and more. Each plaza normally offers something unique. Read our story from 2018 about The Ville Plaza to help you get an idea or read about Hatch Show Print’s first time at The Ville last year. Stay updated for 2020 announcements for the plazas and campgrounds.
As of January 7th, the plazas that had been announced are as follows:
- Sanctuary of Self Love (Plaza 2) – Curated by Hayley Williams of Paramore
- Where in the Woods
- The Ville and The Grove (Plaza 7)
- House of Yes and Little Cinema
- Gallactic Giddy-Up (Plaza 5)
- The Boogaloo of Wonder (Plaza 6)
- The Barnyard (Plaza 9)
- SheRoo: Women’s Camp
