With a rise in craft brewing and more than 25 breweries in Middle Tennessee, beer-tasting events have been popping up throughout Nashville. Adding a wild twist to the average beer fest, Nashville Zoo is hosting its eighth annual Brew at the Zoo beer-tasting event on May 31 from 6:30 – 10:30 p.m.
This 21+ event takes guests on an exotic adventure throughout the Zoo giving them an after-hours view of animal exhibits while sipping on unlimited samples of more than 100 craft beers.
Beers available include Yazoo Brewing Company, Guinness, New Belgium Brewing, Terrapin Beer Company, Marathon Brewing and more. Other alcoholic beverage available include hard ciders, hard seltzers and wine.
Alcohol and late-night cravings go hand-in-hand, but the Zoo has visitors covered. Local food trucks will be parked on the Zoo’s Festival Field throughout the night offering attendees delectable food choices ranging from Cousins Maine Lobster to Funk Seoul Brother to The Grilled Cheeserie.
Live music from reggae band Love Healers, country-rock band LazyJane, country band Steel Blossoms and singers Tony Memmel and Chaz Mazzota will fill the Zoo paths. Fire dancers and stilt walkers from Beyond Circus are sure to entertain, and keepers will be out introducing guests to ambassador animals. Also throughout the night, attendees can catch an animal show and bear training demonstrations.
Guests wanting to support the Zoo can purchase the Conservation Lounge addition to their general admission ticket. This swanky lounge with seating and a private bar, hosted by Frugal MacDoogal, also includes an animal encounter, as well as door prizes and trivia. All proceeds from this lounge benefit the Borneo Nature Foundation, a not-for-profit conservation and research organization protecting animals in the Southeast Asian rainforest.
Looking to level up during the event? Check out the VIP admission. This includes access to the exclusive VIP Lounge and Conservation Lounge, early entrance, opportunity for an animal meet & greet and special food pairings with select beers.
All proceeds from this event go toward Zoo operations, which includes feeding the more than 2,700 animals, education programs and funding conservation efforts.
