Bastion in Houston Station mark one of the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood’s best reclamation projects — it’s the site of an old machine shop — as well as the return of Chef Josh Habiger to a kitchen of his own. Habiger was the original co-head chef at The Catbird Seat and later started Pinewood Social for the Strategic Hospitality group, which also owns Bastion. Just months after its February 2016 opening, Bastian already had local critics calling it one of the city’s best restaurants.
