Charcoal-roasted chicken and rice spot Bokbox, from well-regarded chefs Tom Bayless (Urban Cowboy Public House, Bastion, The Catbird Seat) and Dauer Ellis (Folk, Rolf and Daughters) opened in October 2019 from a walk-up window in East Nashville. It’s only open for weekday lunches but worth the trip for the crispy skinned chicken, suitable for takeaway or eating in the car. Note that there’s no cash accepted: credit cards only.
