One of Nashville’s most historic businesses, The Peanut Shop opened in downtown’s Arcade indoor mall way back in 1927. The store continues to roast peanuts, cashews and other nuts each day in a roasting oven delightfully dubbed “Little Bertha.” The Southern delicacy of boiled peanuts — an acquired taste — also is prepared on site. The Peanut Shop also offers an array of candies, chocolates and dried fruit, and your selections are still weighed on an old-fashioned scale.
