12th Annual Women's Work Festival

Beginning September 7, for the twelfth year in a row, Tennessee Women’s Theater Project presents its annual Women’s Work festival of performing and visual arts created by women. Running at North Nashville’s Looby Theater through Sunday September 23, the festival cuts a broad swathe across styles and genres to offer eleven completely different programs:
poetry and storytelling ; staged readings of new plays; film, dance, music and a display of visual art works.

Women’s Work is presented with the support of our 2017-2018 Season Sponsor HCA TriStar Healthcare, and individual donors .

 September 8, 7:30pm – Theater/One-Woman Shows: Five Junctions of Acceptance: A Love Letter, by Arabelle Pollick; and The Vicious Hillbilly or Dating in the Deep South, by Dawn Larsen

 September 9, 2:30pm – Theater/Staged Reading: Boxes, by Brooke Bryant

September 13, 7:30pm – Theater/One-Woman Shows: Project 24, by Brandy A. Rogers; Be Fruitful and Multiply, by Tricia Rose Burt

 September 14, 7:30pm – Various Shorts: Mermaid Asylum, by Lainie Marsh and Nishat Mirza; The Revolution of My Voice, by Greta McClain; Circular Emotion, by Mary Donnet-Johnson; It’s Complicated, a sitcom pilot by Emily Steele

 September 15, 7:30pm – Theater/One-Woman Show: If I Dare, by Ginger Newman

 September 16, 2:30pm – Poetry & Comedy! Featuring poets Mimi Pantelides, Colleen McClintock, and Dana Malone; and comics Aleta Myles (hosting the comedy portion of the show), Allison Summers, Melissa McKnight, Shannon Delane, and Britt Beer

 September 20, 7:30pm – Theater/Staged Reading: Seven Bridges Road, by Marilynn Barner Anselmi

 September 21, 7:30pm – Storytelling and Monologues: Sirens of Appalachia, by Dana Malone, Kristen Chapman Gibbons, and Lily Wilson; and Mothers, Wives, Daughters, Sisters, Friends, by Myra Stephens

 September 22, 7:30pm – Musical Tribute: Nina Now, by Destiny Stone

 September 23, 2:30pm – Theater/Staged Reading: Irish Mist, by Bren Dubay

$60/Festival Pass; good for admission to all 11 shows.
$30/Mini Pass; good for admission to any four shows.

60% of ticket revenue goes toward compensating the presenting artists.
