The 8th Annual Celebration of the Late Singer and Songwriter.
Skeeter Davis was a country and pop legend with a successful career that spanned over 50 years. She was one of the Grand Ladies of the Grand Ole Opry, a pioneer for crossover country when her biggest record, The End of the World was topping the charts in ALL genres of music in 1963. Donna Frost met Ms.Davis during that time when her aunt, Mary Lynch Jarvis was working for Chet Atkins at RCA, the label Skeeter recorded for. Donna was a 6 year old child who idolized Skeeter. They became lifelong friends. During the last 8 years of Skeeter’s life, she invited Donna to perform with her as her harmony singer on the road, including tours in Barbados and St. Lucia as well as appearances on the Grand Ole Opry. Skeeter was battling bone cancer those last years which claimed her life in 2004. Donna, who has been and currently is a touring singer/songwriter and recording artist for over 30 years, presents this very special tribute each December 30, which was Skeeter’s birthday. Donna and her band of friends perform Skeeter’s greatest hits including “The End of the World,” “I Can’t Stay Mad at You,” “Gonna Get Along Without You Now,” “Last Date” and more. It is a wonderful trip down memory lane!
