A Soldier’s Christmas

This Christmas join the staff at Johnsonville State Historic Park as we host “A Soldier’s Christmas”. This is one of Tennessee State Park’s most original and educational Christmas events. “A Soldier’s Christmas” will take place each day at the park’s historic soldier hut living history area.

Park visitors will have the opportunity to come and witness a real Civil War “Soldier’s Christmas” as members of the 43rd Wisconsin Infantry, a Union living history organization, will be encamped both Friday and Saturday at the park demonstrating period Christmas cooking and camp life inside and outside authentically reproduced winter soldier huts. Period Christmas decorations will adorn each cabin and soldiers of the 43rd Wisconsin will be singing period Christmas carols throughout the day. Make plans now to attend this wonderful Holiday event.
