Aegis Sciences Classical Series | Tchaikovsky & Copland feat. Johannes Moser
Please note, this event has expired.
Led by Guerrero, the 2017/18 Aegis Sciences Classical Series consists of 14 concert weekends featuring everything from Baroque to brand-new, along with four commissions and a world premiere.
History in the Making – the orchestra will record Rouse’s Ogoun Badagris, a heavily rhythmic piece inspired by Haitian voodoo rituals. Cellist Johannes Moser will perform on two works. The first is Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme, which is full of lush, romantic melodies.
Moser will also perform on contemporary Mexican composer Enrico Chapela’s innovative Magnetar, Concerto for Electric Cello, which combines a specially made electric cello with guitar pedals for some truly stunning effects — it’s a truly one-of-a-kind musical experience. The Copland Symphony will showcase the incredible sound of the Martin Foundation Concert Organ surrounded by the full orchestra.
