Appalachian Spring ft. Teresa Buchholz, mezzo-soprano

Presented by Gateway Chamber Orchestra at Downtown Presbyterian Church, Nashville TN

Apr 20 2015
Appalachian Spring ft. Teresa Buchholz, mezzo-soprano
  • BERIO- Folk Songs
  • CHRISTOPHER CHANDLER- Deep in Liquid Indigo (2013)
  • BARBER- Adagio for Strings
  • COPLAND- Appalachian Spring

When Teresa Buchholz made her GCO debut in 2013 with Mahler’s Das Lied von Der Erde, the Nashville press hailed the collaboration as “transcendent.” Buchholz partners with the GCO in Berio’s intimate and colorful Folk Songs, a song cycle of melodies from around the world. The winner of the Young Composer Competition, Christopher Chandler is featured alongside two of the most iconic American works, Barber’s Adagio and Copland’s Appalachian Spring.
