What better to way to kick off the spring season and celebrate Earth Day than to get outdoors and attend a free, fun, family festival? The Town of Ashland City will hold its 2nd annual River & Roots Festival on April 22, 2017.
This free festival, designed to get everyone out and connecting with each other while supporting the community, will offer live music, kids activities, gardening adventures, demonstrations, and 50+ craft, food, and community vendors.
Starting at 10:30am, the Blue Heron will be offering 45 minute free river cruises on the Cumberland River.
Local Ashland City business SheyeGirl Coffee Co. is sponsoring the live music at the Farmers Market Pavilion. Come out to hear folk country duo The Rushings play at 10:00. The Rushings will be followed by Bee Taylor, a Nashville based artist with an underground pop/rock sound and a roots voice at 11am. Erin Viancourt kicks off the noon hour with some modern, traditional country music and the closing act will feature multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Roxanna Jane at 1:00 p.m.
“Our city is growing”, stated Ashland City Mayor Rick Johnson, “and River & Roots Festival is just one of the many 2017 events sponsored by the Town of Ashland City where local residents and visitors can come out and enjoy our hometown ambiance”.
