Become Like Little Children for Successful Creek Restoration

Presented by Cumberland River Compact at Cumberland River Compact, Nashville TN

Become Like Little Children for Successful Creek Restoration

The children of Lipscomb Academy Elementary School looked at their school playground creek and asked a key question: “Why is there no life in this creek?”

Their journey to answer this question has resulted in new aquatic life, repair of an undiscovered broken water main, a new federal mapping name for the creek, a pilot project testing 75 species of riparian plants, and broader support for the Cumberland River Compact’s West Fork of Brown’s Creek project. The school’s principal, teachers, students, and university experts will share their collaborative solutions.
