The President’s Concert is a Belmont tradition that showcases the School of Music students and ensembles performing a variety of styles including orchestral, pop, choral, country, and jazz.
The President’s Concert is a Belmont tradition that showcases the School of Music students and ensembles performing a variety of styles including orchestral, pop, choral, country, and jazz. Over 600 students will perform. This year’s ensembles will include Chorale, University Orchestra, Bluegrass ensemble, Southbound (country), Phoenix (pop), Percussion, Musical Theatre, a Mass Choir with all vocal ensembles and a surprise guest performer.
During the concert, the Applause Award is presented to a person or organization that has had an impact on the Arts. This year’s honoree is Alan Valentine, President & CEO of the Nashville Symphony. The evening also serves as a fundraiser for scholarships for the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
Previous Applause Award honorees include Martha Ingram, The Grand Ole Opry, Ricky, Skaggs, Michael W. Smith, CeCe Winans, Barbara Massey Rogers, Steinway & Sons Piano Company.
