An intimate concert with one of the greatest acoustic guitar players of all time, multi award winning songwriters and great singers to raise funds for 202 Friendship House, where people have found lasting sobriety for almost 60 years. Homemade pie and coffee will be served.

Tommy Emmanuel is regarded as one of the greatest acoustic guitarists of all time.  He is an Australian guitarist known for his complex fingerstyle technique, energetic performances, and the use of percussive effects on the guitar.  Originally a session player in many bands, Emmanuel carved out his own style as a solo artist releasing award-winning albums and singles.  Guitar Player magazine’s readers poll named him “Best Acoustic Guitarist” in both May 2008 and 2010.  In June 2010, Emmanuel was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia.  In 2011, Emmanuel was inducted into the Australian Roll of Renown.  Chet Atkins invited Tommy into guitarist knighthood by bestowing upon him the coveted title of CGP, Certified Guitar Player, an honor awarded only to four other humans ever.

Kim Parent found success as a songwriter beginning in the late 1990’s and more success as a background vocalist in the studio with JoDee Messina, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Aaron Tippin, Reba, and many others.  She sang with Brooks & Dunn for their final 6 years of touring, following that up by joining a 3 year tour with legendary pop artist Christopher Cross.  She also found a home at the Grand Ole Opry as one of the house background singers, appearing there every month for 7 years with many legendary country artists.  Kim’s musical career spans 5 years of professional songwriting, 7 years at the Grand Ole Opry, 10 years of touring with nationally known acts, 30+ years of singing in studios, and over 50 years of performing live with her acoustic guitar as a journeyed singer-songwriter.  She released her fifth CD project late summer of 2019 entitled “Back to Love”.  It is a raw collection of songs which portray her personal experiences of recovery and redemption.

Jon Vezner, Grammy award-winning songwriter, is a tunesmith of sensitivity and dry wit.  Vezner was honored with a Grammy for “Best Country Song” and the Nashville Songwriters Association’s “Song of the Year” in 1990 for “Where’ve You Been”, the true story of Vezner’s grandparents, co-written with Don Henry, and recorded by Kathy Mattea.  “Where’ve You Been” was also honored as “Song of the Year” by the Country Music Association (CMA) and the Academy of Country Music (ACM).  Jon’s songs have been recorded by Martina McBride, Janis Ian, John Mellencamp, Nancy Griffith, Faith Hill, Clay Walker, Diamond Rio, and Native American recording artist, Bill Miller.  Other co-penned songs recorded by Kathy Mattea include:  “A Few Good Things Remain”, “Time Passes By”, “Whole Lotta Holes”, “Slow Boat”, “Who’s Calling My Name”, “Trust Me”, and “Ashes in the Wind”.  Singles written by Vezner include:  “If I Didn’t Love You” by Steve Wariner, “Has Anybody Seen Amy” by John and Audrey Wiggins, “Then What” by Clay Walker, and “You’re Gone” by Diamond Rio.
