Caring for Aging Parents
St. Cecilia Academy and Overbrook School have organized a free panel discussion to help those caring for aging parents. The event is to be held at the St. Cecilia Academy Lecture Hall, located at 4210 Harding Pike, Nashville, Tenn. A panel of professionals will present critical information on caring for aging parents. Panelists include:
- Mike Yopp – Recognized multiple times by Best Lawyers in America, Yopp is a leading attorney in estate planning, trusts, conservatorships and tax law with Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis. He will speak about the importance of legal planning.
- Sarah Wieck, LCSW – Wieck serves adults and seniors in Middle Tennessee as the manager of therapeutic interventions at TriStar Centennial’s Parthenon Pavilion. She will speak about the transition most adults go through as they advance in age and will provide practical ways to have necessary conversations about the future.
- Grace Smith – As the executive director of the Council on Aging’s local chapter, Smith leads the agency in providing helpful information and resources for older adults and caregivers and developing collaborative solutions to unmet community needs. Smith will speak about the numerous services offered in Nashville and the surrounding communities.
- Connie Luttrell, RFC – Luttrell is the owner of CC & Associates, a financial services and insurance firm, and a published author. Luttrell will speak about her vast experiences assisting people in all aspects of financial planning and investing for the future.
Following the panel discussion, Clark Baker, chairman of the endowment development committee at St. Cecilia Academy and Overbrook School, will conduct a Q and A. Additional experts will be on hand for the Q and A including Sister Mary Diana, physician and officer of the Catholic Medical Association; CPA Jay Grannis and funeral director Don Whitley. The event is free and open to the public.
