Coffee & Classics | Beethoven’s Second Piano Concerto

Blakeford Coffee & Classics Series | The Friday-morning Blakeford Coffee & Classics Series includes free coffee and pastries and features four performances of classical music in a relaxed setting.

Up-and-coming British pianist Benjamin Grosvenor will perform Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2. British conductor Michael Francis makes his Nashville debut. He is currently music director of the Florida Orchestra. Written during World War II, British composer Vaughan Williams’ Symphony No. 5 is his most popular symphony, suffused with a mood of calm, and filled with lush, pastoral music. According to music historian Larry Rothe, “The peace of [Vaughan Willliams’] Fifth is hard-won, and it is uttered in the voice of experience, not naïveté.”

Treats on The Nashville Symphony! This Friday-morning series features free coffee and pastries at 9:30am included with your ticket purchase. First come first served. Supplies may be limited.
