Concert and Conversation: CMT’s Next Women of Country

With Abby Anderson, Bailey Bryan, Ashley Campbell, Cassadee Pope, and the Sisterhood Band

The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum will welcome thousands of country music fans to CMA Music Festival, June 7 to 10. Follow the museum on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat for the latest information on all the surprises.

Cable channel CMT’s Next Women of Country campaign highlights new female country artists. CMT executive Leslie Fram hosts this showcase and discussion with artists involved in the program. Already signed as a songwriter and recording artist, Abby Anderson has landed on “Artists to Watch” lists for Pandora and The Boot. Her debut single, “This Feeling,” can be heard on Radio Disney and is available on Spotify. Bailey Bryan first made waves with her groundbreaking vertical-format music video for the song “Own It.” Radio personality Bobby Bones included her in his “Class of 2017,” his list of notable up-and-coming artists, and this year Bailey has toured with Kane Brown and Dan + Shay. Ashley Campbell’s debut album, The Lonely One, will be released May 11, 2018. Campbell is the daughter of late Country Music Hall of Fame member Glen Campbell and joined him for his 2011 Goodbye Tour, playing banjo and singing. Her poignant song “Remembering” was featured in the 2015 documentary Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me. After winning TV singing competition The Voice in 2012, Cassadee Pope released the album Frame by Frame which includes the singles “Wasting All These Tears” and “I Wish I Could Break Your Heart.” Her #1 song, “Think of You” with Chris Young, received a 2017 Grammy nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. Pope’s latest single is “Take You Home.” Working on solo careers, Alyssa Bonagura and Ruby Stewart had no plan to form a duo, but bonded over their mutual love of music. Ruby’s father, Rod Stewart, heard them harmonizing and told them, “You two should start a band.” Thus, the Sisterhood Band was born. Having written and recorded their first EP, they will join Steven Tyler & Loving Mary on a 2018 summer tour. The artists will sign commemorative Hatch Show Print posters following the program.
