Ongoing
Downtown Civil War Walking Tour

1.5 hours, 2 miles, 12 sites

Although Middle Tennessee’s major battle was fought south of Nashville, the entire city was affected by the Civil War. This tour was co-written by University of Virginia undergraduate intern Charlie Bailey, Nashville Sites executive director Dr. Mary Ellen Pethel, and MTSU graduate intern Sarah Williams and narrated by Tennessee State Museum curator of art and architecture Jim Hoobler. The Downtown Civil War tour begins at Fort Nashborough and ends at the Tennessee State Museum.
