Belmont Mansion presents Drawings and Paintings of Belmont Mansion by Charles Brindley at the Leu Center for the Visual Arts on the Belmont University campus
The works in this series focus on the architecture of the mansion and its grounds. Brindley’s images will be for sale during this exhibit and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the mansion.
The event will feature more than 20 paintings and drawings of various aspects of the mansion, which Brindley has been working on for the past two years. In addition, the show will include an equal number of additional works depicting a variety of symbol-laden subjects, including giant deciduous trees, panoramic landscapes, prehistoric ruins, rock formations, architecture and still lifes.
Events include:
- A reception with Brindley at the gallery will be Thursday, February 26 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and the public is invited.
- A gallery talk with the artist, The Creative Process of Developing the Drawings and Paintings of Belmont Mansion, will be Tuesday, March 3 from 4:00pm to 5:30pm.
- An architecture and tree drawing workshop at Belmont Mansion and the grounds of Belmont University with Brindley will be Saturday, March 28 from 11:00am until 4:00pm. The cost is $60 and all proceeds benefit the mansion.
Brindley has been represented by galleries in numerous cities, including Nashville, Memphis, Taos, Washington, D.C. and New York City. His work appears in public and corporate collections throughout the United States and in private collections internationally.

Belmont Mansion is the largest house museum in Tennessee and one of the few nineteenth century homes whose history revolves around the life of a woman: Adelicia Acklen. Belmont Mansion Association’s mission is to restore, preserve and inspire an appreciation for Belmont Mansion, a unique cultural landmark and an embodiment of Nashville’s rich history.
