It’s “Greek tragedy meets Alvin Ailey’s Revelations”! STEAL AWAY pushes the boundaries of conventional opera narratives. Emmy-nominee Dave Ragland and Inversion Vocal Ensemble reimagine traditional African- American spirituals to explore universal themes of hardship, hope, and renewal. Shining a spotlight on the power of community, choreographer Shabaz Ujima leads his multi-generational company of diverse dancers – shackled feet DANCE! with musical support from members of Diaspora Orchestra.
