Eli Lev
Born in Washington, DC and raised by the world, singer-songwriter Eli Lev is a traveler, community-builder, spiritual seeker, and passionate musician.
For the past two years, Eli has been building an impressive live show catalog in the US and abroad, playing at premier venues like the 9:30 Club in DC, The Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD, and City Winery in NYC. Eli’s stage presence and crowd engagement has earned him the honor of opening for national touring acts like outlaw country singer Shooter Jennings, songwriting legend Ellis Paul, and American Idol winner Lee Dewyze.
Eli Lev released his sophomore album, ‘Way out West,’ at Pearl Street Warehouse in DC on December 28th, 2018. The album garnered high praise and subsequently won the 2019 WAMMIE for best Country/Americana album in March, 2019. ‘Way out West’ is the follow up to his first album, ‘All Roads East,’ which was hailed by Paste Magazine as “an impressive collection of songs with lush instrumentation and crooning vocals,” that include the break out single ‘Making Space.’ The EPs are two parts of Eli’s Four Direction project, with ‘Deep South’ coming in 2020 and ‘True North,’ shortly after. The project is inspired by the cosmology of the Navajo four directions which he encountered during his tenure as a middle school teacher on the Navajo Indian Reservation.
You can hear Eli’s debut album, ‘All Roads East,’ his latest single ‘Chasing Daylight,’ and his award-winning album ‘Way Out West’ on his website: https://www.eli-lev.com/music
“When I’ve been on the road, and I can’t speak the language, I’ve always been able to play a song and suddenly everyone’s singing and dancing. There’s a connection there, and, in that instant, there is a community,” marvels the Washington, DC-based artist.
