Hot on the heels of their Instrumental Group of the Year win at the International Bluegrass Music Association Awards, Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen learned that their latest release, Cold Spell, has been nominated for a Best Bluegrass Album Grammy. Cold Spell, the band’s second project for Compass Records, entered Billboard’s Bluegrass Chart at No. 3. The ten song album is a sizzling collection of traditional and progressive bluegrass sounds that incorporate jazz, country, and blues in tautly arranged songs featuring soulful harmonies and fiery instrumental chops. Special guests Sam Bush, John Cowan, Leon Alexander, Rob Ickes, and Megan McCormick appear throughout; standout songs include the title track, the instrumental “Yeah Man,” and “Days Go By.”
