Friendraiser

Southern Word would like to invite you to their annual Friendraiser, which will be virtual this year.

Southern Word does not see recent tragedies involving George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor as an aberration, but as examples of ongoing, systemic failures that continuously impact the people in their community. With this in mind and with an emphasis on communities of color, Southern Word continues to build infrastructure that lifts up underrepresented voices, places and values underrepresented role models at the front of the classroom, and provides solutions for shared education, diversity, and mental health needs.
 
Southern Word was recently recognized as Experiential Learning Innovator of the Year along with Pearl-Cohn Entertainment Magnet, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and the National Museum of African-American Music at the Academies of Nashville Awards. 
 
Southern Word has consistently provided innovative and necessary educational services to Nashville and Tennessee over the past 12 years, and they could use your support to sustain their efforts.
 
All attendees are asked to register in advance.

Southern Word encourages you to intentionally invite others that might support their work, but please do not post or share to social media.
