The grand traditions of drag queens and tragic country queens intersect at Marlene Twitty-Fargo. Since she never quite made it in the mainstream music industry, she carries on with a chip on her shoulder, hair jacked to heaven and the filthiest country variety show around. “My heart’s with Jesus,” she’s fond of saying, “but my cunt’s in country.” Her repertoire includes such fan favorites as the unsanitized version of “Fist City,” with lyrics a tad more literal than Loretta’s.
