Ghosts of the Battlefield at Lotz House
The epicenter of the 1864 Battle of Franklin is located just six blocks south of the historic boundary of the once-quiet village of Franklin, and was the home place of two families, the Carters and the Lotzes. We will tour the restored Lotz House while hearing stories of bloodshed and destruction… and unexplained phenomena. You’ll hear of the woman in a nightgown crying out for a loved one, a little girl staring out a window, women’s voices (but there’s no one there) and ordinary items that just can’t stay put. When lives are cut short, sometimes spirits remain…and that’s what happened here. Visit the home described by the Travel Channel in 2012 as one of the “most terrifying places in America.”
