Give Black, Give Back Conversations: Economic Resilience
Give Black, Give Back, an initiative of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, is back with its live conversation series hosted by co-chairs Kia Jarmon and Lisa Swift-Young.
February’s topic: Economic Resilience in the Black community.
In 2020, the Black community faced increasing challenges due to a natural disaster, a global pandemic, and social injustice and inequities. Mr. Herman Hicks, Vice President, Private Client Relationship Manager at First Horizon Bank and Ms. Dimeta Smith Knight, founder of the firm, Dimeta Smith CPA, will join the conversation to discuss coping, recovering and reconstructing while moving forward in strengthening the community’s economic well-being.
Give Black, Give Back serves as a resource and amplifier for Black-led funds at The Community Foundation and supports the efforts of nonprofits that are run by and serving the Black community. It provides access and education on how to build or sustain philanthropy in order to strengthen our economy.
