GUEST ARTIST
Li-shan Hung, piano
Hung will conduct a master class with Blair School piano majors at 8:00pm Wednesday, Oct. 7, in Steve & Judy Turner Recital Hall. Participation in the class is limited to Blair performance majors by audition only, but the public is welcome to attend and observe.
As a winner of the Artists International, Li-shan Hung made her New York recital debut at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in 2003 to great acclaim, which led to a return in 2005. Her performance of Cesar Franck’s Prelude, Chorale, and Fugue was cited as “perhaps the finest performance of this piece I’ve ever heard” by Timothy Gilligan in the New York Concert Review. For her Blair School debut, the Taiwan native and Biola University professor will perform works including Schubert’s Piano Sonata in G Major, D. 894 and Brahms’s Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Handel, Op. 24. Hung will also be performing at the Blair School of Music in Steve & Judy Turner Recital Hall on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 8:00pm.
