Heartbreak Help | A Play Reading
a reading of Justin Tanner’s play Heartbreak Help
A reading of Justin Tanner’s hilarious, critically acclaimed play, Heartbreak Help, produced by Ken Bernstein, will take place at Bong Java After Hours Theatre.
“Nothing like a bunch of women around to empower each other!” chirps Margo, one of four disparate women sharing a beige hotel room with Native American motifs in the Joshua Tree desert. They are attending the “Woman, Writer, Hero” conference. While grating on each other’s nerves, a tenuous bond of friendship forms as they try to heal their broken hearts and to connect through seminars, vision quests, booze & cookies. Taking aim at the chakra, channeling and crystal-carrying self-help gurus, the women find themselves in each other.
Maybe some mention of the activist women, women’s march, metoo, crazy times we are living in?
Cast: Rachel Agee, Laurel Green, Lauren Braddock Havey, and Virginia Richardson.
