A weekend full of films created by filmmakers who happen to be women for everyone.
Empowering past, present and future generations of artists currently underrepresented in front of and behind the camera, Watkins College of Art partners with HerStory Cinephilia Society Cinema, a sponsored project of the Arts and Business Council of Nashville, to present art and entertainment created by filmmakers who happen to be women during a weekend full of film screenings in Nashville November 16th – 18th 2018.
This unique Nashville film festival highlights women as leaders in society, illustrated through a mix of films – shorts, features, documentaries and narrative. Amazing films created by a mix international women from all walks of life but all presented from her point of view covering topics such as women’s health, body image, relationships, cultural diversity and breaking barriers.
Two time Emmy award-winning Director MARY LOU BELLI leads a hands on interactive workshop on how to prep for directing a television episode. Bring a laptop, NCIS vision board and come ready to work as though you’re hired to direct an episode next week.
During the Academy Awards and Golden Globes ceremonies, filmmakers who happen to be women continue to be underrepresented and struggle to gain recognition. Are the skills needed to make a major film truly restricted to the male majority? We say absolutely not!
