Intoxicated by Color

Edie Maney’s Intoxicated by Color exhibition showcases her distinct abstract expressionistic style, reminiscent of one of her key artistic mentors, Helen Frankenthaler, and from the many years she studied with esteemed Nashville-based artist Anton Weiss. Starting in a chaotic manner with layer after layer of color and strokes, she works toward balancing intensity and motion. Using brayers, credit cards, squeegees, and fingertips, in addition to brushes, she creates her art with an intuitive painterly approach to each piece. The opening will take place during the First Saturday Art Crawl, Oct. 1, 6pm-9pm, and will continue through Oct. 28, 2016.
