Jana Harper’s This Holding: Traces of Contact

Streaming, for free, through June 30.

Celebrated Nashville visual artist Jana Harper joins forces with choreographer Rebecca Steinberg, musician Moksha Sommer, and filmmaker Sam Boyette for a physical exploration of personal empathy and the shared human experience. Originally conceived as a live performance, this dance and visual art event has been reimagined for the camera, taking a timely look at our responsibilities to each other as citizens of a global community. The environmental performance was filmed from a distance at various outdoor locations in Nashville during isolation, examining individual and collective burdens, and what it means to feel connected to something larger than ourselves—especially when apart.

This dance film event is FREE to stream through multiple channels including YouTube and Facebook, and features a live Q&A with the artists. After the premiere, the film will be available to stream through June 30. RSVP in advance to receive exclusive behind-the-scenes content and event reminders.

OZ Arts is proud to offer a timely, unique, and accessible presentation during this period of distance. If you’re able, please consider making a gift of support to OZ Arts to help ensure the future of world-class, contemporary art in Nashville. Donations may be made when RSVPing or at any time here.
