The Nashville Shakespeare Festival presents Shakespeare’s political thriller, Julius Caesar featuring Broadway legend Chuck Wagner in the title role.
The Nashville Shakespeare Festival’s winter production is Shakespeare’s political thriller, Julius Caesar, directed by Santiago Sosa.
This edgy, action-packed production will tell the story of the assassination of Rome’s charismatic dictator Julius Caesar in a compelling, Roman-noir re-imagining, where conspiracy thrives in the shadows and dark corners of the city. Broadway legend Chuck Wagner plays the title role of Caesar and Sam Ashdown returns to Nashville after his critically-acclaimed turn as NSF’s 2018 Hamlet to play Mark Antony.
The rest of the diverse cast is made of Nashville local favorites and regional powerhouses.
The show runs January 10-27 at Belmont’s Troutt Theater in Nashville, then plays at MTSU’s Tucker Theatre in Mufreesboro from January 31-February 2, 2019.
This production is made possible in party by The National Endowment for the Arts: Shakespeare in American Communities and The Tennessee Arts Commission.
