Lace Up for Literacy READ/MOVE-a-thon!

Celebrate DYSLEXIA and ADHD Awareness month!

You can make great strides for literacy.

Support kids who learn differently. Whether you’re joining in support of Dyslexia or ADHD Awareness month, or just want to have fun, Learning Matters is challenging students to spend the beautiful Middle TN October creating healthy minds and bodies. Sign up is simple and logging your minutes is quick and easy.

It’s easy to SIGN UP and even easier to LOG your minutes reading and moving. Contest is open to K-12 students in the Metro Nashville Area. MAKE EVERY MINUTE COUNT!

What activities can be logged?

READING: Reading through homework, reading a book, being read to, and ear-reading…every minute counts. Better yet, walking WHILE listening to a book counts double!

MOVING: Walking to school, around the neighborhood, soccer practice or recess…every minute counts!

Does playing video games count?….Sadly, no.

And, there are PRIZES! Weekly prizes for the student with the most minutes in each category!

Lace Up for Literacy READ/MOVE-A-THON is a month-long celebration of students and loved ones who have been impacted by a learning disability. It is a celebration of the determination and heart it takes to go to school every day even though it’s hard. And, it is a celebration of breaking down barriers to learning.

For 14 years, Learning Matters has provided struggling students with academic support to help them thrive in school and life. What’s more, Learning Matters provides this service regardless of a family’s ability to pay. Proceeds from the event will benefit Learning Matters and directly support learning services for students with financial need.
