Matt Jenkins is a singer-songwriter from Aledo, Texas, who moved to Nashville to pursue his career in music. As an artist signed to Universal South Records, Jenkins performed at iconic Music City venues The Bluebird Café and the Grand Ole’ Opry, and has opened for major acts such as Taylor Swift, Zac Brown Band and Lady Antebellum.
After fine-tuning his skills on Nashville’s stages, Jenkins quickly transitioned into the songwriting business and signed to a joint publishing venture between Warner/Chappell Music, Combustion Music and hit songwriter Ashley Gorley’s Tape Room Music. Over the last several years, Jenkins has had over 50 major label cuts, and his accomplishments as a songwriter include the top 10 hit “Cop Car,” recorded by Keith Urban, and the two week #1 single “Where It’s At,” recorded by Dustin Lynch, which was also the third most-played song of 2014 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
Jenkins celebrated another #1 hit with Florida Georgia Line’s “Confession” in May 2016, and he has had recent cuts by artists such as Blake Shelton, Sam Hunt, Dierks Bentley, Jake Owen, Billy Currington, Randy Houser, Old Dominion, Joe Nichols and Michael Ray, as well as multiple songs on the acclaimed ABC television series, Nashville.
