Mourning Tours

Take Us From This World: Death, Dying and Mourning Tour at Belmont Mansion.

Death cast a constant shadow over life in the 19th century.

Consequently, Victorians developed elaborate mourning rituals to help them survive the grief. In this specialty tour at Belmont Mansion, you will learn about these customs and how Adelicia Acklen may have used them to endure the deaths of two husbands and six of her children.
