Muslim Moon and Stars Mobiles and Garlands with Turnip Green Creative Reuse

Each year during the ninth month in the Muslim calendar, Muslims observe Ramadan. This year, Ramadan is observed from April 23 to May 23. During Ramadan, Muslims watch the crescent moon throughout the month. They also fast and pray. The moon and stars are symbols of Ramadan, and many Muslims decorate with garlands and mobiles of stars and crescent moons. In this workshop, we decorate our own using repurposed materials, including paper, strings, tissue paper, sticks, and hangers. For ages 11-17.
