Nachde Nashville VII
Nachde Nashville is the biggest Bhangra competition in the south!
Bhangra is a traditional Indian dance form that originated from Punjab, India. Collegiate teams fuse traditional moves with contemporary music such as dub step and hip-hop. The primary purpose is to promote and celebrate Indian culture throughout the Vanderbilt and Greater Nashville community. Nachde Nashville also aspires aspire to expand beyond the scope of dance and create more cultural awareness.
Be sure to cheer on the BhangraDores of Vanderbilt University! The BhangraDores is Vanderbilt’s premier competitive, co-ed Bhangra dance team. The purpose of the Vanderbilt University BhangraDores (BD) is to promote cultural awareness and aesthetic appreciation of the Punjabi folk dance form that is Bhangra. The BhangraDores commit multiple hours to practices and meetings which culminate in on-campus performances and performances in the broader Nashville community. Additionally, BD competes in the national Bhangra circuit and has seen much success at competitions across the country in the past.
