Nashville Civic Design Center Luncheon
Please note, this event has expired.
Creating a more beautiful and functional city for all means considering every aspect of the urban fabric, evaluating the environmental impacts, and including every resident when changing the built environment.
At this year’s annual luncheon, Nashville Civic Design Center is featuring Emilio Cabrero, who will explore “Socially Conscious Design” and how to think holistically and objectively as a city. Through his work with Mexico City’s government, and as the Director of both Design Week Mexico and the World Design Capital “Mexico City” 2018, Cabrero has organized a variety of projects leading to positive impacts for the city in terms of mobility, housing, spaces public, clean energy and waste disposal.
As Nashville continues to grow, each project affecting the build environment needs to be more cognizant of the impact it has on the community as a whole.
Emilio Cabrero is an architect, designer, curator and creative consultant who has been recognized for his participation in independent projects, foundations and companies around the world. He is a leader in the creative and entrepreneurial field, as well as in the design and architecture sector. He is one of the founding members of C Cubica Arquitectos, an architectural design studio based in Mexico City, along with Andrea Cesarman and Marco Coello. Cabrero was appointed director of the World Design Capital Mexico City 2018 where he organized events and projects that continue to have a positive impact on the city in terms of mobility, housing, spaces public, clean energy and waste disposal. In 2011 he founded Blend Design, the largest “Concept Store” in Mexico, and was appointed board member director of the Museum of Modern Art of Mexico City. He also participated in the curatorship and production of more than seven art exhibitions art for Design Week Mexico.
