Join local artist Jairo Prado for a hands-on exploration of Latin-American folk art traditions, this time in support of Nashville Reads! Patrons can participate in creating a community Quipus exhibit, aka talking knots. Representing and honoring family members, they are symbolic visual documents originally used by the Incan civilization in South America. Just in time for Morales’s May 7 visit, Prado will present the community Quipus in a collaborative hanging rope installation, celebrating the colorful contributions of individuals and families that become NPL’s own “Nashville Family Ropes.”
