Felix is a non-religious man, searching for meaning after his father’s death. Meira is a young Hasidic woman, straining against the limitations of her traditional life. After a chance meeting, these two find a connection in this somber yet seductive romance set in Montreal. The director smartly avoids making any one character a real villain, choosing instead to focus on the ambiguity of choice and consequence.
