Natural History

Discover the origins of Tennessee’s amazing landscapes as well as its diverse animal and plant life, and then see how fossils show examples of life from long ago. Learn about the incredible biodiversity – both plants and animals – of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Through a partnership with the Gray Fossil Site in Gray, Tennessee, learn about an animal like the red panda that lived in East Tennessee five million years ago. A media program explores the natural processes that continually shape Tennessee’s land.
