Neil Young + Promise of the Real w/ Special Guest Steve Earle
Please note, this event has expired.
Nothing less than a legend makes a stop at the Music City Shed with his Monsanto Years backing band.
The iconic singer-songwriter, activist and music innovator Neil Young has plenty of Nashville ties, the most notable being that the majority of his classic 1972 album Harvest was recorded here.* When Young took Promise of the Real, the backing band on his 2015 release, The Monsanto Years, on the road with him last year, concertgoers were treated to unpredictable and thrilling three-hour plus shows. Fans can expect nothing less when Young, with special guest Steve Earle (an inspired opening act choice if there ever was one), visits the barely-a-year-old Ascend Amphitheater on the Cumberland Riverfront.
*The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s exhibit, Dylan, Cash and the Nashville Cats: A New Music City, includes a section on Young’s recording of Harvest with Nashville musicians.
General parking will not be provided at Ascend Amphitheater. However, there will be many options in and around downtown to park at for events. Please visit ParkItDowntown.com for a detailed and interactive downtown parking map.
