Old Dominion in concert to benefit the Autism Education Center, a division of the Autism Foundation of Tennessee (AFT). Old Dominion is one the hottest new country/rock bands on the radio today with hits such as “Break up with him.” The evening will be emceed by Cam “Buzz” Brainard (“the Highway” Sirius XM).
The AFT has served over 225 children and provided thousands of hours of therapy and support for children ages 2 – 20 in the Nashville and Clarksville area since 2007.
Nationwide, 1 in 68 children are diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. Public schools are struggling to keep up with the growing number of students with autism. There are also very limited resources and educational programs for children with autism over the age of 6 in the state of Tennessee. Therefore, the AFT created a program called the Autism Education Center to provide classroom instruction in small groups to children who are not thriving in the public school system. As our program grows, so does the need for more space, teachers and equipment. It is our hope that this concert will not only help expand our program, but provide scholarships for families so their child can learn and grow to become independent.
