Play It Forward: The Sports Fund & Nashville Sounds Equipment Drive

Calling all Nashville Sounds fans, it’s time to clean out your closets and garages! The Sports Fund of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee is partnering with the Tennessee Titans on Thursday, August 20, Friday, August 21, and Saturday, August 22 at First Tennessee Park for the “Play It Forward” equipment drive. Bring your gently used sports gear to ball game, and collections will be sorted and distributed to local nonprofits which fit The Sports Fund mission of providing team membership experiences to at-risk youth in the 40 counties of Middle Tennessee.

The Sports Fund is a charitable effort dedicated to helping ensure Middle Tennessee area children have access to the opportunities sports and team membership provide – ultimately, helping them succeed in school and in life.

As a permanent endowed source of funding, The Sports Fund will distribute funds to nonprofits and community programs that work proactively to prevent a range of issues facing our children: childhood obesity, gang membership, teen pregnancy, high school dropout rates, and more.
